Aim and Scope

Aim

Journal of Turkish Academic Novelty (TAN) is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal that aims to contribute to the production and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the field of social sciences.

​

The primary aim of the journal is to bring original, scientifically sound, and methodologically rigorous research conducted across different disciplines of the social sciences to the academic community, to provide a platform for the discussion of diverse theoretical and methodological approaches, and to contribute to the accessibility of scholarly knowledge.

TAN seeks to enhance the visibility of research conducted at national and international levels, encourage the scientific examination of contemporary issues in the social sciences, and promote academic interaction among researchers from different disciplines.

In accordance with the principles of research and publication ethics and established standards of academic publishing, the journal adopts an editorial approach based on originality, scientific consistency, methodological rigor, transparency, and scholarly contribution. TAN particularly values studies that go beyond reproducing existing knowledge by making an original contribution to the relevant literature and providing a basis for new discussions, approaches, or further research.

TAN also supports the free circulation of scientific knowledge and aims to ensure that published studies are accessible to researchers, students, practitioners, and other interested stakeholders.

Scope

Journal of Turkish Academic Novelty (TAN) covers theoretical and applied academic research in the field of social sciences. The journal considers original scholarly studies employing quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methods.

Interdisciplinary studies addressing relationships among these fields may also be considered, provided that they are consistent with the aim and scope of the journal.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal are expected to make a scholarly contribution to their respective fields in terms of subject matter, methodology, and scientific approach; clearly define their research questions; employ appropriate scientific methods; and discuss their findings within the context of the relevant literature.

A manuscript’s relevance to one of the disciplines covered by the journal does not, by itself, guarantee its eligibility for publication. All submissions are also subject to editorial preliminary assessment with regard to originality, scientific quality, ethical compliance, and conformity with the journal’s publication policies.
